Beyond Information: Relationship Skills

These peer-led sessions use a script-based approach in which older peer educators take the learners through a variety of practical and experiential learning exercises. The emphasis is on understanding the social context, pressures and consequences of early sexual involvement. This leads on to introducing the necessary communication skills to deal positively with unwanted pressure to become sexually involved.

Enhancing relationship skills through:
Participatory learning, role-plays, modeled and practiced techniques.
Establishing normative beliefs and skills necessary to say ‘No’ to unwanted pressure.
